One of the most well-known, longest-run, and beloved bowling alleys in Michigan has announced that after 76 years in business, they will be closing. The legendary Biddle Bowl in the Detroit suburb of Wyandotte is closing its doors, and the final day is upon them, much to the heartbreak of its patrons.

This alley is unique in that it only has 8 lanes, yet it's remained open since 1948. They made the official announcement regarding their retirement and closure recently on Facebook:

Biddle Bowl has been sold! With sadness & joy, we will be closing on August 23rd - no more bowling. We sincerely thank you for all your support & friendship. We are very excited about this new chapter in our lives. Our memories of all of you will be treasured for the rest of our lives… thank you! Please remember to support the Goodfellows going forward. We love you all (no matter what) Bob, Judy & Rob
So many residents are sending their love in the comments section, many of which hold special memories of the bowling alley that go back years, like Richie Thomas, whose entire life has been impacted by their business:
I'm so heartbroken that this is coming to the AN of one of the special places in my life. My family's been here for over 40 years. Down to my aunts, my uncles, my cousins, and even my Grandma And let's not forget we even had my sister's wedding there. Biddlebowl is a Second Life and a second family to me. We've had such good times and we had some bad times, and there are no words to say how I feel, but I am grateful that I am able to be here for the last day and I just wanted to say thank you, Bob, Judy, and Rob for allowing me to work there for the past 15 years of my time with you guys.
The family announced that they will be closing on August 23rd, and the building will be turned into a storage facility.
