This annual festival started back in 2015 and features live music performances, Art, bonfires, beach camping, and the main affair, beer!

The event will take place this year at Muskegon’s Pere Marquette Beach on August 28th. Previous events were hampered by high water, and last year Covid-19 stopped it in its tracks. The last year the event happened was 2019, and it featured beer from 80 Great Lakes region breweries and served more than 400 varieties of brewski. The size of the Burning Foot Beer Festival was affected by high water and road construction, and plans to move it to Heritage Landing was scrapped due to the pandemic.

Now that vaccines are quickly being distributed, with hopes of most people being vaccinated by summer, plans are moving forward. The Muskegon City Commission granted the festival permission this week for one night of overnight camping on the beach during the festival on August 28th and 29th.

MLive reports

Muskegon City Clerk Ann Meisch who organizes some of the city festivals and events and serves as a city liaison for others, told MLive she expects festivals like Burning Foot that are held toward the end of the summer will mostly be back to their usual traditions. “I’m really excited,” Meisch said. “I think we’re going to see more events at the end of the summer rather than the beginning of the summer. We’ll be able to ease into it.”

Meisch’s office also handles The Annual Taste of Muskegon, which has moved from its original June time frame to September 24 and 25 for 2021. She’s also involved with the Lakeshore Art Festival in downtown Muskegon, which is set for June 26 and 27.
