A last spring storm system brought flash flooding conditions to Southwest Michigan over the weekend (June 9-10). Worst hit was the Cass County community of Edwardsburg.

Just ouside of town, a flash flood careened through a residential neighborhood near Davis Lake.

The residents of this home are in awe as the water rushes by.

The county saw up to 6 inches of rain from the event. As of Monday the local Road Commission reports the following culvert failures and road closures.

Road or culvert failure

Oil City Davis Lk St to Ashton
Mt Zion Stewart to Calvin Ctr
Cassopolis Crooked Creek to Osborn - OPEN
Mason St Calvin Ctr to Tharp Lk
Bulhand Lamb to Calvin Ctr 1 lane closed

The same storm system that flooded out this portion of Cass County spawned two tornadoes just south of the Michigan state line in Angola, Indiana.

It's been an intense year for flooding with an historic event in Kalamazoo at the end of February.
