The year is 1991. The place is St. Andrew's Hall in Detroit. The band is Nirvana. If you were one of the lucky few to make the trip to the east side of the state for this once-in-a-lifetime show, I tip my hat to you.

According to Setlist.FM, Nirvana fans from the Mitten were treated to an incredible set from the Seattle trio; a set that featured some of Nirvana's better known classics like Smells Like Teen Spirit, Breed, Polly, Come as You Are, and Rape Me as an encore. If you have the sads because you weren't at the show, don't fret. I'm bringing the show to you.

A YouTuber that goes by the name Curmodgeon NIRVANA posted the entirety of the 1991 Detroit show to the platform. The video is too dark at times, however the sound isn't bad, and since we're all starving for some live entertainment at the moment, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. The comments on the video are well worth a read, too, as some are YouTubers are delighting in this walk down memory lane. Comments like:

  • Fulcanelli - "Remember the floor moving up and down? I wondered a couple times if we were all going to die there. Pretty sure St Andy’s went over capacity this night....i think it cost like $8. I still have the stub somewhere."
  • herr direktor - "thank you kurt for being there in my teenage years..."
  • Christian Pelletier - "Such a jewel... Kurt was in pretty good shape that night."
