Coral Porn Isn't What it Sounds Like

I suppose it's no surprise that a hashtag with the word porn in it would be getting so much attention, but #coralporn is nothing like it sounds.

Divers and snorkelers alike are sharing photos from their Instagram accounts of their absolutely beautiful and wholly diverse underwater sightings. Some coral appear to glow in the dark, others seem late for a Phish concert, but most are eerily alien. Coralporn isn't just about sharing the beauty and mystery of the sea, it's about raising awareness of what these incredibly tiny animals do for our planet. They have created one of the most diverse ecosystems on the planet, sheltering a plethora of marine life, as well as provide a defense of beaches during storms. And they look so good while they're doing it.

Nature is both magical and oddly trippy.
