As the season winds down, the Detroit Red Wings will get a good look at a couple of former college stars.  They have recently signed a pair of college free agents to contracts.

According to M-Live,  The Red Wings have signed Princeton Forward, Ryan Kuffner and Michigan State Forward, Taro Hirose to contracts.

Both players will join the Red Wings to play during the remainder of the 2018-2019 season.

Kuffner played four years at Princeton and had 75 goals and 152 in 132 games.  Hirose spent three years at Michigan State.  This year he led the nation in points with 50. He also led in points per game, assists, multi point games and three point games.

Both players were not drafted so they were free agents out of college. They could sign with any team.

The Red Wings were officially eliminated from the playoffs this week.   They will finish this season on Saturday, April 6th against Buffalo.
