Detroit Tigers 2019 first round draft pick, Riley Greene made his pro debut in Florida and showed why he was a top five pick.

According to M-Live, the Tigers top pick went 4-5 and hit two home runs in his pro debut with the Gulf Coast League West Tigers.  The team is one of the Tigers rookie league affiliates in Lakeland, Florida.

He has a long way to go before Detroit but if he continues to perform he could soon move up to Connecticut.  He could also be brought up to the West Michigan Whitecaps in Grand Rapids.

Greene was the number 5 pick in the recent MLB draft.  He was drafted out of high school from Oviedo, Florida.

Greene is another one of the Tigers prospects to watch.  Three of their top prospects, pitchers Casey Mize and Matt Manning along with infielder Isaac Paredes, were named to the Eastern League All Star Team.  All three are currently with the Double A, Erie Seawolves.

With the way the current Tigers team has performed this season, there is hope that the team will see better baseball in the future with these top prospects.
