The future looks bright for the Detroit Tigers.  Many of their recent draft picks have been pitchers and a few of those so far this year have had some great performances.

Last week it was announced Casey Mize would move up to Erie.  Just as that announcement was made, Alex Faedo had a combined no hitter with Drew Carlton for Erie.

Matt Manning, another recent top pick, has also had a good season so far for Erie.  Just last night Casey Mize made his Erie debut and pitched a no hitter.

This season for the Tigers has that 2004, 2005 feeling.   They will have some great games.  They will also have some bad games.   Hopefully by late summer we will get to see some of these prospects play a few games with the big club.

Beau Burrows, who is currently in Toledo, is probably the first of these young prospects we will see sometime this year.

It maybe be hard to watch the major league club this season but if you get a chance check out the Erie Seawolves and their young pitchers.
