Detroit Tigers Top Hitting Prospect Heading To Grand Rapids
As the Detroit Tigers continue to play towards another high draft pick, their recent top pick is heading to Grand Rapids.
According to CBS Sports, Tigers top hitting prospect, Riley Greene is heading to the West Michigan Whitecaps. He was just drafted by the Tigers in June and is already moving up the ranks in the Tigers organization.
He was recently with the Connecticut Tigers where he played 24 games. He will join a Whitecaps team that has a little over 3 weeks left of the season.
The Whitecaps have had a similar year to their parent club the Tigers. The Whitecaps finished the first half of the season at the bottom of the Midwest League Eastern Division standings. They are currently at the bottom of the division in the second half.
He should add at least a little excitement for West Michigan as the season winds down. For the remaining dates of the 2019 schedule for the West Michigan Whitecaps you can check out their website here.
