The Doobie Brothers have postponed tonight's show at Clarkston's DTE Energy Theater (you know, Pine Knob). But is next week's GR date in question?

The Doobs long delayed 50th Anniversary tour, their first with Michael McDonald in quite awhile, has been postponed through September 8 due to what they say is a crew member testing positive for Covid.

Rumors are running rampant that McDonald himself has contracted the virus after he was a no show at the band's State Fair show in Minnesota.

The band has postponed their next four shows which include tonight's show in Clarkston at DTE, Saturday's show in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, Sunday's in Toledo, Ohio and next Wednesday's show, September 8th  in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The new dates for those shows will be announced soon.

As of this writing the band is expected to resume the tour next Thursday, September 9 in Cleveland at the Blossom Music Center, which means that as of right now, the Sunday, September 12 date at Van Andel Arena here in Grand Rapids is still on. But, as we have learned over the past 18 months, dealing with Covid is a fluid thing, so we'll keep an eye on things for you.

And since we're talking about music, a couple of names you  may be familiar with have dropped new songs on us.

Sting has a solo album due out next month called The Bridge, and here's the first single off of it called, "If It's Love."

Meanwhile, ex-Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham has also dropped a new song. This one is called "Scream". It's from his self-titled alum due out September 17.
