I can't believe we're writing this again but we have yet another closing to report as it's just been announced that the high-end restaurant Elysium in Downtown Kalamazoo will be closing.

We have made the very hard decision to permanently close the doors of Elysium. We would like to thank everyone that supported us these last two and a half years. We are grateful to have had this opportunity to give this community what we believed to be a "place of perfect happiness", unfortunately, it was not meant to be. December 31st will be the last day to enjoy the Elysium experience. Thanks again to all that supported us, to our family, friends and new friends we have made on this journey.

More Restaurants Closing In Kalamazoo

Elysium was run by Chef Greg who, as their website mentioned, has a long history of serving gourmet dishes in Kalamazoo:

The meaning of Elysium is “a place of perfect happiness”, and that is what Chef/Owner Greg Paggeot strives to present to all those that enter. With over 22 years’ experience in several fine dining restaurants in Southwest Michigan, Chef Greg seeks to present a unique and ever-changing experience to each customer. Quality food, presentation, and overall excellent service are what awaits our customers.

Sadly it doesn't look like they'll be opening a new restaurant so there's no telling what will be next for the family or Chef Greg but wish them the best going forward.
