Every Western Michigan Bronco To Play in Major League Baseball

The Western Michigan Broncos are headed to the NCAA Tournament again, and it's got people buzzing about the possibility of a good showing.

But this team couldn't be where it is now without previous generations of Broncos paving the way for them to be here, going all the way back to the 1955 team who nearly won the College World Series. In fact, we're going back even further, to the very beginning of the team, and the organization, to showcase every Bronco who played in Major League Baseball.

The Broncos will play on Friday in Lexington Kentucky against the No. 2 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, the Kentucky Wildcats. But it should still shape up to be a good game. Kentucky are coming off some rough losses in the SEC Tournament, including a 11-0 shutout against LSU, and a close 6-5 loss to South Carolina in the fourth round.

Meanwhile, Western Michigan is on a tear, amassing a 29-3 scoring run against opponents in the MAC Tournament, taking down the No. 1 ranked Bowling Green once, and the No. 3 ranked Ball State Twice.

It's obviously yet-to-be-determined what will happen with some of this year's players, but it is possible some of them wind up being picked up in the draft by a Major League organization, as has happened MANY times before, going all the way back to the Western Michigan University program's debut in 1911, and their first Major Leaguer in 1915.
