Family Health Center Opens Fitness Park in Kalamazoo’s Edison Neighborhood
You know you should exercise. You know you should teach your children about the importance of physical fitness. But where do you start? Gyms can be expensive, and you don't have room indoors for a treadmill or weight bench. Besides, even if you acquired the equipment, you don't know where to start. That's where the Family Health Center comes in.
Family Health Center President Denise Crawford invites you to take advantage of an amazing new addition to the Edison neighborhood; a family-friendly fitness park. Combined with individual appointments with a Family Health Center coordinator, and based on their physical activity prescription, you can give the kids a head start on fitness, or change some of your unhealthy habits and provide a positive example for your family. Adjacent to the Family Health Center, 320 E. Alcott St., the park is located in the heart of Kalamazoo and is made up of jungle gyms for toddles, basketball courts for teens, and equipment for adults, such as elliptical and rowing machines. Plus, group classes like yoga an Zumba will be happening all summer long. Click here to see the schedule of events.
