Farmers Alley 2019-2020 Season Announcement

Opening the 12th season is Lerner and Loewe's classic, Camelot, the Arthurian legend brought to life through stage and song. A paired down cast won't detract from the enduring score, featuring “If Ever I Would Leave You”, “I Loved You Once in Silence”, and of course, “Camelot”.  Rated PG for brief peril and adult situations.

Frank Capra’s beloved film transformed in to a live 1940s radio broadcast, complete with foley artists providing sound effects and actors pulling double and triple duty with their roles, It's a Wonderful Life tells the story of George Bailey as he considers ending his life one Christmas Eve. (Spoiler alert: he doesn't.)

According to the press release, "Della makes cakes, not judgement calls.  But when the girl she helped raise comes back to North Carolina to get married to another woman, Della’s life gets turned upside down.  She can’t really make a cake for such a wedding, can she?" Written by Bekah Brunstetter, staff writer and story editor for NBC’s wildly popular hit, “This is Us”. This production is Rated R for language and sexual content.

Neil Simon's hilarious Lost in Yonkers takes us all the way back to 1942 and two teenage boys who go to live with their strict grandmother and their “crazy” Aunt Bella, whose childlike mind and yearning for independence take them all on an adventure. This one has all the feels. PG.

Farmers Alley Theatre is once again partnering with the Gilmore to bring you the story of famed jazz singer, Billie Holiday in Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill.  Set in a seedy Philadelphia bar four months before her death, Farmers Alley invites you to "be a part of the audience as more than a dozen musical numbers are interlaced with salty, often humorous reminiscences to project a riveting portrait of the Billie Holiday and her music." Rated R: language and drug use
