Fox Ridge Apartments in Kalamazoo has been completely flooded, and at least one building is completely underwater, as water has been raining down into the apartment for the last day.

This is just the new 5-alarm emergency that further adds to the community's complicated relationship they have with the apartments, which have been under scrutiny for years.

The video below shows how much the current conditions are giving "Titanic going down:"

WMUK and NowKalamazoo partnered up to investigate the living conditions, which were called into question last year, and their findings were very shocking, to say the least:

When Darendo Rouse moved into Fox Ridge Apartments about six years ago, she said the carpet smelled and the faucet spewed brown water, but the biggest problem was the mice. In the spring of 2023, sewage backed up from Rouse’s bathroom and seeped into the carpet beyond the hallway and into the adjacent bedroom. At first, only a large patch of carpet in front of the bathroom was cut and removed. It took more than a year to get it fully replaced.

One person on a Reddit thread regarding the living conditions claimed this area has seen challenges going back 30 years:

What it costs KDPS to deal with just this complex is probably a notable portion of their entire budget. In the 1990’s there was a HIV cluster outbreak there, and the county health department still has issues with communicable diseases that effect the residents, and that’s an aside from what the building conditions and rodents cause.
