The Grand Rapids Griffins were eliminated from the AHL playoffs earlier this week.  With the season over the team has already announced their home opener for 2019-2020.

According to M-Live, the Griffins will open the next season at home on October 11th.  The game will be at Van Andel Arena.  Opponents and start times will be announced this summer.

Along with the home opener, five other game dates were released including the annual New Year's Eve game for December 31st.

The Griffins are the AHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings.  This past year the team featured the Wings first round pick, Filip Zadina.   Next season the team may feature the Red Wings other first round pick from last year, Joe Veleno.

The last few years have seen the Red Wings pick up some young talent.   Many of those players will be in Grand Rapids.   It should be another exciting year in Grand Rapids.

Tickets for next season will go on sale in September.  You can keep up with the Griffins at their website here.
