"American Idiot" has become one of my favorite Green Day albums.  I have seen the show twice and await whatever their next release will be.  They have announced that a new documentary on the making of that album called, "Heart Like A Hand Grenade" will be released to theaters next month.

The album came out over 11 years ago and we finally get to see what went into the making of this album.  I am always curious to see these types of documentaries because you see the band creating and producing a classic album.   I really hope to see how they put the song, "Jesus Of Suburbia" together and why they decided to go the way they did with this album.

The director of the film, John Roecker has a statement on the film here where he said he spent over 9 months with the band.   He also said in that statement that this is the first time that the band allowed someone to film them in the studio.

I'm excited to check this out when it comes out beginning October 15th.  You can go here to see what theaters are showing the film.
