Is There A Kalamazoo Food You Would Risk Your Life For?
This past weekend, there was quite a stir when a long line of people most without masks standing closely were waiting to have a famous Grand Haven Pronto Pup. Before we get to the "meat" of this article let me say that some of my family and I were eating at Snug Harbor last summer which is right next to the Pronto Pup stand. Shockingly, this was my first time hanging out in Grand Haven so when I saw a long line then, I wasn't aware why. After finding out, I had to try a pup and, frankly, I didn't think it was worth waiting for. But there are other delicacies that I would.
To be honest, the only thing I would really stand in line for these days here in Kalamazoo would probably be Q-IT-UP. Now, if we were in my home town of Kenosha, WI there are several reasons to wait in line, Carl's Pizza, The Spot's double cheeseburger and Pielli's Bread. It must have to do with growing up with the things you'll always love to eat and, in my case, they're still there and still taste great.
Sadly, we don't yet know how many of the places people around here love to go to will survive in the post-shutdown era. Come to think of it, what might happen to those places I love in Kenosha! Oh no!
So, I asked around and came up with some of the places and food that people said they would stand in line for. Take a look and see if you agree.
At Que Buenos, I'm told, it's the grilled chicken taco.
