The Kalamazoo Wings are set to move to The West in the latest alignment in The ECHL.

According to the press release, The K-Wings will be apart of the Western Conference in the Central Division.  The division will feature rivals Ft. Wayne and Toledo also the Indy Fuel, Quad City Mallards, Tulsa Oilers and Wichita Thunder.

The move was approved by the board of governors for the 2016-2017 season.

The league also changed up the playoffs.  The first two rounds of the playoffs will be played entirely within the division, with the division winner playing the fourth-place finisher and the second-place team meeting the third-place team in the Division Semifinals.

The winners of each series will meet in the Division Finals, leading to the Conference Finals and Kelly Cup Finals.
