The Kalamazoo Wings open their season on Saturday night in Ft. Wayne. The team has announced their opening night roster for the start of the season.

According to the press release from the K-Wings, the roster will feature 2 goaltenders, 14 forwards and 8 defensemen.

Names you know like Justin Taylor, Tanner Sorenson, Ben Wilson and Eric Kattelus return along with recent pickup former Red Wings prospect and Toledo Walleye forward, David Pope.

Three players Eric Kattelus, Kyle Blaney and Zach Saar were placed on injured reserve.  The K-Wings also picked up defenseman, Connor Schmidt from Toledo after the roster was sent to the league.

The home opener is at Wings Event Center next Saturday night.  The K-Wings will take on the Cyclones on October 19th.  The 46th home opener for the K-Wings will feature Fan Fest before the game.
