We recently talked about how Hooters was entering into bankruptcy, and there were only a few remaining Michigan locations. That has now ended as two of the locations, located in Flint and Taylor, recently closed, leaving the lone Hooters location in Michigan remaining in Saginaw.

This comes only three months after they filed for bankruptcy. This is leaving many people to wonder if the Saginaw chain is going to be closing next.

So, Why Are Hooters Closing?

In a statement given to USA Today, a spokesperson for the company detailed recent hardships by ensuring remaining employees would be taken care of:

Hooters will be well-positioned to continue our iconic legacy under a pure franchise business model. We are committed to supporting our impacted team members throughout this process and are incredibly grateful to our valued customers for their loyalty and dedication to the Hooters brand.

Now, one would think that this restaurant, which was very tongue & cheek in the 80s and 90s, was dying because of how it objectifies women, which is an old and stale way of living.

But you take a look at places like Twin Peaks, and you can see that this is not as played out as one with good taste would come to believe. You can attribute its downfall or decline to anything else that goes from one extreme to the next.

For people who are into creeping on women while they eat, when you grew up on vanilla, and then some other company comes around and starts offering Rocky Road, you aren't gonna go back to vanilla, no matter how good their wings are.

As of right now, the company has no plans to close more restaurants, at least for the time being.
