Looking To Volunteer? Stewardship In Southern Michigan For January
If you had a goal to do more volunteering in 2017 here is an opportunity to take advantage of as the Michigan Department of Natural Resources announced volunteer stewardship workdays for January.
According to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, volunteers are needed to help cut invasive non native shrubs and plants in state parks and recreation areas in Southern Michigan. The winter is a great time to find these green pests and take them out.
Workday locations for January include,
- Saturday, Jan. 28: Fort Custer Recreation Area (Kalamazoo), 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
- Sunday, Jan. 29: Warren Dunes State Park (Berrien), 1-4 p.m.
Volunteers are also asked to bring work gloves, water and clothing for outdoor work. If you need more details on workdays you can head to the DNR volunteer website.
A great way to get outdoors and enjoy Michigan.
