It may have been easy to have missed the news that Michelle‘s on Sprinkle Road officially closed as of December 4th. As unfortunate as it is, it will still have life after death as they announce new ownership would be taking over and a rebranding phase would be taking place.

There have been a lot of closures announced in the last week, which has stunned a lot of people from Kalamazoo. Everything from Godfather‘s pizza to Boonzaaijer Bakery, and most recently Oakland bistro, Michelle‘s has also been added to the list, according to a note left on their door:

Why Are So Many Kalamazoo Restaurants Closing?

There seems to be an overabundance of Kalamazoo businesses that have decided to call it quits either before or after Christmas and it is quite concerning. Although we still have many great local businesses we can support, it's a little troubling that all of these closures are happening close to one another. We hope Kalamazoo can continue to thrive and be a great place to open a business.
