As Spartan football fans wait for the announcement of a bowl game, the men's soccer team is  set to play in the elite 8 in Division I college soccer.

According to the Lansing State Journal,  the Spartan soccer team advanced to the elite 8 with a 1-0 win over 13th ranked Georgetown.

The team also won in an upset victory over 4th ranked Louisville.   It has been a great post season for Big Ten Soccer. The Spartans are still alive and so are Maryland and Indiana.

This will be the 4th time in six years that the Spartans have made the elite 8.

According to NCAA, next up for the Spartans will be James Madison. James Madison recently beat 12th ranked  Virginia Tech.
