One of the most important things in a horror movie is the score.  Watch a film like "Jaws" without music and it loses a lot of it's punch.  If I had to pick one great Horror Film score that I love it is the score to "Suspiria" by Goblin.Goblin, is an Italian band that is known mostly for their soundtrack work with Italian director Dario Argento.  First on his film "Profondo Rosso" (Deep Red) and then most notably on the follow up "Suspiria".  Ramone blogged about "Suspiria" earlier this month check out his thoughts on it here.

This score is one of the creepiest I've ever heard, and surprisingly it was created before the film was shot.  It fits the movie perfectly.  The movie is about a Ballet student in Germany who discovers that her academy is a coven of witches.  The theme is classic and will be in your head for days.  I also love the tracks "Sighs" and "Witch".  If you have never seen "Suspiria" do so and if you can find the soundtrack give it a listen.
