NHL To Feature Women’s 3 on 3 Game During All Star Weekend

NHL All Star Weekend is January 24-25 and this year women's hockey will be showcased with the annual NHL skills competition.

According to the NHL, the Women's Elite 3 on 3 game will match up the premier women's hockey players from the USA and Canada.

The game will see the two teams play in a 20 minute 3 on 3 tournament on January 24th.   The game will be played during the six events of the NHL All Star Skills competition.

Women have been invited to the All Star Weekend in the past.   A group of players actually demonstrated some invents back in 2018.   Kendall Coyne Schofield participated in the NHL Fastest Skater competition last year and finished with a time of 14.346 seconds.

The event will feature 9 skaters and one goalie per team.  The players were selected by the NHL along with a committee that featured former  players.

NBC Sports Net will air the Skills Competition on Friday night, January 24th beginning at 8 p.m.
