Red Wings Legend Red Kelly To Have Public Memorial In Toronto
Detroit Red Wings legend and Hall of Fame defenseman, Red Kelly will have a public memorial in Toronto on Friday, May 10th.
According to the story from The Detroit News, the memorial will be for the public following Kelly's death last week.
The memorial will be at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto following a private funeral service for family and friends at 10 a.m.
Pictures of the Red Wings and Leafs great will be on display near his statue in the arena. Fans who attend the memorial are encouraged to sign a book near the display for his family.
Red Kelly played with both the Red Wings and the Maple Leafs during his 20 year career.
In February the Red Wings retired his number 4. He had his number with the Maple Leafs retired back in 2016.
Kelly is the second Red Wings great to have passed away recently. Ted Lindsay died back in March.
