Last week I was wondering who the Red Wings would send  to the All Star Game in Tampa.   Today we found out who will be the Red Wings representative in the Game.

According to the Red Wings,  Defenseman Mike Green will be apart of the Atlantic Division team in Tampa. The team will be captained by Steven Stamkos of the Tampa Bay Lightning.

It is a bit of a surprise as I thought that either Dylan Larkin or possibly Jimmy Howard would be selected.   Mike Green leads the team in points for Defenseman and is also among the team leaders in scoring.

This is his first time in the All Star Game with the Red Wings but not his first as a player.  He was an All Star when he played in Washington for the Capitals.

Once again this season will see a 3 on 3, 4 team tournament for the NHL All Star game.   It will feature the All Stars from the Atlantic, Metropolitan divisions in the East and Central, Pacific divisions in the west.   The games will take place in Tampa on January 28th.
