The NFL Network's Tom Pelissero is reporting that Detroit Lions second-year cornerback Jeff Okudah (pictured) is lost for the season due to an Achilles tendon injury suffered in Sunday's 41-33 loss to the San Francisco 49ers at Ford Field.

Okudah was the Lions first round pick last season (Number 3 overall), and struggled through his rookie season.  The Lions were hopeful that he could regroup this season and become a leader in a young secondary group.  Third-year man Amani Oruwariye is now the team's most experienced corner.

Okudah has two years left on his rookie contract (plus the fifth-year option for 1st round picks).  He will likely go on season-ending injured reserve soon.
