Things are about to get spicy in Michigan as the annual Taco Fest returns to Downtown Royal Oak this summer.

What is Taco Fest?

Taco Fest is an annual event that takes place in Royal Oak and features Mexican food from over 35 restaurants and food trucks. According to Fox 2, margaritas will be served, too, and guests can sample more than 15 varieties of tequila in flights.

While at Taco Fest you're encouraged to vote for your favorite tacos, after you try them of course. Categories include Most Authentic, Most Creative, Best Overall, and Most Spicy.

We’re excited to be offering a new, deliciously fun-filled Fourth of July weekend to celebrate great food, drinks and a little Mexican culture with the entire family in downtown Royal Oak. The Royal Oak Taco Fest will serve as a great opportunity to showcase metro Detroit’s finest tacos and impressive musical talent to kick off the summer.

When is Taco Fest?

Taco Fest 2022 is happening July 1-4 in Downtown Royal Oak.

  • Friday, July 1: 11 am 11 pm
  • Saturday, July 2: 11 am - 11 pm
  • Sunday, July 3: 11 am – 9 pm
  • Monday, July 4: 11 am - 9 pm

Taco Fest will also feature some of the regions’ most impressive musical talent line-ups with a range of musical genres and styles performing all day.

It's also a family-friendly event, so bring the kiddos out to enjoy the Kids Zone, including bounce houses, face painting, and more.

How Much Does it Cost to Go to Taco Fest?

Tickets are  $7 in advance and $10 at the festival gates.
