Kalamazoo’s Sprinkle Road Bridge Reconstruction Over I-94 Begins on Monday March, 16th
Major work scheduled to begin next week on the Sprinkle Rd. Bridge over I-94. According to Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), reconstruction on the bridge will begin on Monday March, 16th.
According to a press release from MDOT, construction will continue through November. During the construction, one lane of Sprinkle Road will be open in each direction. I-94 ramps at Sprinkle Road will be closed, and traffic will be directed to adjacent interchanges. There also will be nighttime single-lane closures on I-94.
Look for some changes with this construction. The north roundabout will serve Sprinkle Road, the west leg of Cork Street, and the westbound I-94 off ramp. The south roundabout will include Sprinkle Road and the eastbound I-94 on and off ramps. The east leg of Cork Street will become the westbound I-94 off ramp, and the Cork Street bridge over I-94 will be removed.
The work begins on Monday, so be prepared!
