A somewhat lengthy process to build a children's natural playscape in downtown Kalamazoo is coming to fruition, and with it, eventually, a second fancy "Portland Loo" toilet.
What started out as a little cart has finally expanded into Downtown Kalamazoo, as they've officially opened their store front at 312 S. Kalamazoo Mall.
For all the doom and gloom, rumors surrounding the downtown Kalamazoo Holiday Parade turned out to be just that, so the news that the parade is going to happen comes as a bit of a surprise.
The downtown Kalamazoo apartment boom continues with the announcement that the three upper floors of 266 East Michigan Ave. will be developed into eleven apartments and also, expect a second restaurant on the main floor. Most people know the building as the home of Kalamazoo's oldest restaurant, Coney Island, which will remain a tenant.
Another new hotel has opened in downtown Kalamazoo. And that's not even factoring in what is set to happen in two years with the Hard Rock project at the Gibson/Heritage Guitar factory.
