Three Socially Distanced Family Activities to Do in Kalamazoo in August
Ok. We're all getting a little tired of staring at the same walls day in and day out. No doubt your children are feeling the same way. You want to get out of the house, but you're not quite sure where to go and what's going on that you can feel confident will follow social distancing protocols. Here are three great ways to get out of the house and enjoy Kalamazoo in August.
It just isn't summer without spending some time by the water, am I right? Every Wednesday through September 16, 2020 you can check out the Gull Lake Sailing Club for absolutely free from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm. Just bring your own folding chairs or a blanket and carve out some beach front turf for you and yours.
I remember being a kid and making these at the fair. Good times. Great memories. Fun gift. Every Friday through the end of August, pop on down to the Kalamazoo Candle Company Marketplace on the Kalamazoo Mall and make your very own candle from noon to 5:00pm. Choose your favorite colors and fragrances, and let the experts at Kalamazoo Candle Company walk you through how to make your very own candle creation.
Live theatre has been on hold for far too long. That is why it's my pleasure to share with you that Farmers Alley Theatre, Face Off Theatre Company and The Black Arts and Cultural Center have teamed up for an outdoor theatrical event, Bob Marley’s THREE LITTLE BIRDS, a musical based on the lyrics of Bob Marley's famous song of the same name. Performances will be held outdoors at La Crone Park at 4pm & 7pm on Saturday, August 15th and shows at Bronson Park at 4pm & 7pm on both August 22nd and 29th. Best of all, these performances are free, so bring the whole family for an afternoon or evening of live theatre.
