Tigers Catching Prospect Called Up To Join Team In Anaheim
If there is any reason to watch the Tigers the rest of this season it is to see any of their top prospects make their debut. One of those prospects, Jake Rogers is being called up.
According to M-Live, Jake Rogers will be called up from Toledo to join the Tigers in Anaheim. Rogers started the year in Double A Erie before being called up to Triple A Toledo.
He will be the first player acquired in the Justin Verlander trade to make his major league debut.
The current catchers in Detroit are Grayson Greiner, who is on the injured list and John Hicks. Bobby Wilson was recently waived to make room for Rogers.
We'll see if this is the start of some call ups for the Tigers. Between Toledo and Erie they have a nice list of prospects who should be up with the team over the next few years.
I recently had the chance to see a double header in Erie and the Seawolves have some nice talent.
Erie is where current Tigers top prospects Casey Mize, Matt Manning and Isaac Paredes are playing. I only had the chance to see Paredes play but all three of these guys should be in Detroit over the next few years.
It is a horrible year currently in Detroit but the future is looking brighter.
