This Michigan Resort Town Has A Message For Tourists: “Stay TF Out”

There are lots of resort towns in Michigan located along the waters of the Great Lakes, and to pinpoint the best one would be impossible. However, one of Michigan's most popular resort towns is just about fed up with all the tourism, and are publically calling out tourists.

In a post made on the Overheard in Traverse City Facebook Group, one person was sick of the complaints, and made a post supporting the amount of people who make their way to the city every year:

It’s easy to complain about the tourists but, one way or another, the tourists are helping to pay your bills, so let’s remember to be kind and patient with them while they are here.

While they're confident tourism is helping, other people in the city aren't so sure:

Tourism and stupidity in our leadership have ruined Traverse City. While it is not any one tourist's fault, the reason no one can find a place to live and businesses thus cannot find workers is because of all the vacation rentals and high price of housing driven up by tourism

Other people also mirrored those thoughts, even going as far as saying tourism has permanently ruined the city:

Tourists come in and push everyone out by making it impossible to afford anything. Rent is through the roof and any type of affordable housing is gone due to the influx of tourists, 2nd homes, Airbnb, and hundreds of million-dollar homes.
