Michigan was once home to two official State Fairs, one in Detroit and another in Escanaba. Following budget troubles downstate, the Upper Peninsula State Fair proclaims itself as 'Michigan's ONLY State Fair.' So what's it like? Here's a look at the UP State Fair.

Fairs are of course known for their food. The consensus top choice is The Fish House. The mobile trailer serves up native whitefish caught fresh each morning from the lake.

If you ever decide to visit the Upper Peninsula State Fair, the fairgrounds are located on the outskirts of Escanaba, 2 blocks off of US 41 at the corner of 23rd St and 12th Ave and run annually in mid-August.
