Since he was drafted this past summer, fans have been waiting to see Filip Zadina in action.  He is up for now in Detroit and finally scored his first career NHL goal.

Zadina scored his first career goal in their recent game against the Colorado Avalanche.  The goal gave the Red Wings the lead before the team ended up losing in overtime.

Zadina was the Red Wings top pick in the draft this past summer. He is up with the Red Wings having spent most of the year in Grand Rapids.  He is expected to head back to Grand Rapids to help the Griffins in the Calder Cup Playoffs.

As the Red Wings are playing out their schedule, the Griffins are currently third place in the AHL Central Division with 71 points.   It was great to see Zadina up and gaining some NHL experience.

Hopefully he can help lead the Griffins to a long and successful playoff run in Grand Rapids.
