What Should Michigan’s Official State Cocktail Be?
This week, the state of Wisconsin is poised to become the first state in the country to formally choose an Official State Cocktail, in the form of a Brandy Old Fashion. Leave it to the drunkest state in the U.S. to be the first to actually pass legislation for an official state drink.
But it got us to thinking, if Michigan were to pick a State Cocktail, what would it be? So, we came up with some options.
First of all, we need to established that YES, Michigan is known for its beer, cider, and wine. We literally have college programs dedicated to brewing, and more wineries and cider mills than you can even comprehend.
BUT, these aren't cocktails, just alcoholic beverages. So saying "Oberon" or "Hard Cider" isn't an option.
But, there are drinks we make around the Mitten that do incorporate a lot of Michigan ingredients, and could potentially make for great Michigan State cocktails.
So here's a few options that might work.
