The 100th Street low clearance bridge south of Grand Rapids will be worked on again this weekend on US-131.  The work could cause traffic slowdowns in both directions.

According to M-Live, pavement milling will occur under the bridge allowing more clearance for the bridge.

The road work will close US-131 in both directions by the bridge.   There will be no detour as traffic is set to be routed onto the exit ramp and back onto US-131.   Traffic on 100th Street will also be closed near the bridge to help with the traffic flow.

The road is set to close on Friday, September 28th at 9 p.m. and will reopen on Monday morning October 1st at 5 a.m.

The low clearance bridge has had issues recently with trucks hitting it and has had previous work done on it to make clearance easier.

The bridge could be rebuilt after 2020 but until  then the current work should help with the bridge clearance.
