It may only be Monday but we're ready to zoom into our weekend already, especially since the 28th Street Metro Cruise is back after taking a year off.

The main event will happen Friday (27th) and Saturday (28th) but a "warm up" event will be held on Thursday evening from 4:30p-8:30p. During the four hours, people will be able to bring the family to check out over 100 classic cars, get some food, enjoy live music, and see a K9 demo courtesy of the Kent County Sheriff's Department.

All the festivities will occur at Rogers Plaza, in Wyoming, with 12+ food trucks, beer tents, five different local bands, kids activities, giveaways and freebies from sponsors, the Miss Metro Cruise competition on Saturday, and the collectors row featuring over 200 collector cars all in one place.

The popular dyno testing platform will also return.

See high-end sports cars and souped-up Classics roar to 160mph+ right in front of you!

People can sign up to participate for $30.

To cater to those on the east side of town, organizers added the Woodland Mall as a second site this year, for Saturday only from 11a-7p. Woodland will have 40+ collector cars, six food trucks, and some stores at the mall will even offer specials.

The actual car cruise spans over 16 miles between Cascade and Grandville along 28th Street. This is the largest car cruise event outside of the Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit, which just wrapped up this past weekend.

The 28th Street Metro Cruise is still looking for volunteers so if you're interested in helping out they are accepting applications until Wednesday.
