Bronson’s Top Baby Names of 2023 Are Here! Do You Know a Newborn With These Names?

Every year, we like to break down the top things of the prior year, and the week before Christmas and the New Year is the perfect time to do it. Reflect back on what the year has brought us, so we can look forward to another 12 months of greatness.

Well, of course, lots of children were born over the past 12 months, and Bronson Methodist Hospital has a tradition of keeping track of the year's most popular names. This past week, they released that list.

Bronson Hospital itself saw more than 4,000 babies born in 2023 at both locations in Kalamazoo and Battle Creek, and there's an interesting trend with most of the names - especially the boys. Most of the names could be considered older, more traditional names.

For the Boys, the Top name was "Oliver." For the Girls, the top name was "Amelia."

Interestingly enough, the trend in southwest Michigan for names stayed kind of close for the year's national list of top names. The boys had two overlapping on the lists, while the girls has four.
