Chicago, Illinois $1 Burrito Deal Leads To Dozens Sick With Stomach Flu

Everyone always likes to make fun of places like Taco Bell. Joking that it gives people the runs, and to be honest with you I don’t get it. I don’t know what is wrong with everybody else’s digestive system, but I’ve never had an issue eating food of any kind no matter who it is.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said For a bunch of people in Evanston, Illinois, which is a suburb of Chicago, after a gastrointestinal illness, left dozens sick. It seems to have all come from Big Wig Tacos and Burritos near campus when they had their one-dollar burrito deal, as Northwestern University student, Micah Sandy stated:

Normally I get dining hall food, but I thought that normally, those burritos are over 10 bucks - so I'd treat myself for the one day. I felt sick, and it just worsened. I ended up going to immediate care - the student health center - which is where I found out I was the fifth person they saw with stomach-related issues.

 

How Did They Get The Stomach Flu?

The University of Illinois Chicago’s epidemiologist doctor, Katrine Wallace said earlier in the week that someone must have used their bare hands unwashed to prepare the food that went into the infected meals.

Big Wig Tacos and Burritos Not To Blame?

It’s important to note that bigwig tacos and burritos claimed they were not certain that the outbreak originated at their restaurant, but are taking the proper measures and it looks like the health department has launched a full investigation to track down where the virus originated from.

I don’t need to tell you what happens when you have the stomach flu, suffice it to say it may be some time before these kids decide to get any kind of Mexican cuisine... at least for a few days.
