Indiana firefighters were faced with another challenge when they discovered a pair of frightened raccoons on top of a burning warehouse in South Bend.

Obscured by smoke and panicked by flames, a pair of raccoons were spotted by firefighters trying to bring a warehouse blaze under control on Sunday, August 4. The resourceful first responders, knowing how wily and adept the animals can be stacked up a pair of ladders to give the bandits an escape route.

Good news travels fast, as the clip was shared by Northern Michigan's 9 & 10 News on Facebook. In the original video, you can hear onlookers cheering the raccoons as they make the final leap to safety, made possible by the good work of the South Bend Fire Department.
