Since 2008, the Department of Dance at Western Michigan University has teamed up with Partners in Dance for a fundraiser based on the reality show Dancing with the Stars. Every year this competition features local celebrities paired up with WMU Dance students grape-vining, shuffle-ball-changing, and strutting their stuff, to compete in various forms of ballroom dance, all in the name of raising money for WMU Dance scholarships. This year is no different. Come out and cheer on our local talent for a great cause Saturday, October 27th. Doors open at 7:30pm, with an 8:15 start at Miller Auditorium. Enjoy catering from Comensoli's Italian Bistro and a cash bar, plus select the "People's Choice" award. Get your tickets now.

This year's dancers feature Heather Baker of Michigan First, Jennifer Bott - WMU Vice President for Academic Affairs, YWCA Kalamazoo's own Grace Lubwama, Dr. Candy McCorlke - WMU Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion, Associate Director of Engagement WMU Development and Alumbi Relations' Chris Praedel, the Air Zoo's CEO Troy Thrash, and Mariko C. Willis, Associate at Willis Law & COO. They will be judged by Kalamazoo mayor Bobby Hopewell, media personality Lori Moore, and award-winning choreographer Kathryn Williams.
