Detroit Lions Interested In Hosting Another Super Bowl
Just as it was announced that Ford Field is having renovations, the team has expressed interest in hosting another Super Bowl.
According to M-Live, Lions President Rod Wood said that he has expressed interest in the team hosting another Super Bowl. He also expressed interest in either Ford Field or somewhere in Detroit hosting the NFL Draft.
The Lions have never played in the Super Bowl but they have hosted it. The Silverdome in Pontiac had Super Bowl XVI and Ford Field had Super Bowl XL.
The renovations at Ford Field should be done this summer but it looks like it maybe awhile before the team would be considered.
The games are planned for the next four years with Minneapolis, Atlanta, Miami and L.A. set to host the Super Bowl.
We'll see what happens lets hope that the team actually plays in one before they host it again.
