Summer Concerts in Michigan Won’t Be the Same Without Eddie Money
Rest in paradise, Eddie Money. Although he was a New Yorker who moved to California, Michigan had a special place for Eddie Money- he played here every Summer.
Those who were there back in the day still call it "Pine Knob." Now known as DTE Energy Music Theater, this venue has been bringing in rock's best since the 1970s. Now, a favorite has passed on, ending an era of Michigan concert history.
May 20, 1989 -- Eddie Money begins his reign as Pine Knob/DTE's first weekend opener. With one exception (1995) he's played on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend of every season since.
