Check For Hepatitis-A If You Attended These 9 Shows at Pine Knob This Year
During the Spring and Summer, even early Fall, you can find LOTS of activity happening at Pine Knob Music Theatre. Thousands of people flock to the field for some of the biggest shows Michigan will have throughout the year.
But this year, if you attended certain shows, you might want to get yourself checked, as a string of Hepatitis-A is going around, and it's been linked to Pine Knob.
The Oakland County Health Division has now confirmed that the Ivy Lounge at Pine Knob was an exposure site for Hepatitis-A. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services' Laboratory made the announcement late last week.
Specifically, anyone who ate food from the Ivy Lounge between Aug. 26 and Sept. 8 should monitor themselves for symptoms, and get vaccinated as soon as possible.
Dr. Russell Faust is the Oakland County medical Director, and says there is a window for people to get vaccinated after exposure.
"For anyone who is not vaccinated for Hepatitis-A, we encourage getting vacc9ination to protect against future exposures."
Specifically, the strain was confirmed after a Jason Aldean concert on Sept. 8th. So anyone who attended that show, and ate at the Ivy Lounge should keep an eye on their health.
