Former Kalamazoo Long John Silvers Replaced w/ Long John Silvers

It’s always a great thing when new business comes to town the announcement of a new business on West Main is somewhat comical if you look at it for what it is. Nearly 2 years ago in late August 2022 the long John silvers located at 5481 West Main St. in Kalamazoo is officially condemned.

Somebody in the vanished Kalamazoo page had visited the area and found out that a little over a year after the Westnedge location shut down, that the West Main location would be closed permanently as well:

The West Main location had a fire a couple of months ago and they were hoping to reopen. But we talked to a guy working in the back of the building a couple weeks ago and said that unfortunately, they would not be able to open it again. The wage location did close over a year ago.

Well, those who miss Long John Silvers don’t have much to worry about because the former site of the Long John Silvers on West Main will now be … a brand new Long John Silvers.

Yep, that’s right, Long John Silvers is going through a brand, new transformation and giving their restaurants a little bit of an upgrade, which is what will be taking place according to Mlive.

As they reported, we knew last December that the area would be a fast food restaurant of some sort when the Alamo Charter Township Planning and Commission approved plans for a new building that would house a fast food restaurant.

Now we know that it’s going to be a brand new long John Silvers. For those of you saying “This scampi happening again,” it is, as the fire was not this location’s fin-ale.
