I get it.  Michigan hasn't many "wins" lately.  There's the unending perception of Detroit enhanced by the recent deterioration of the schools.  Then there's the Flint Water Crisis and, of course, last weekends tragedy.  All of which got national attention.  Now this website thrillist.com piles on with Michigan as the 2nd most miserable state for winters!

Let me start by saying I like Michigan winters which really haven't been that bad as far as I'm concerned.  I've had several opportunities to move somewhere warmer over the years but my family and I love living in Michigan but we love the change of seasons and all the things do do during them. There are so many positive things that I could list that we have or DON'T have but I'll give you the 5 major points I always bring up when people rip me for living here...

1. No Droughts (We're surrounded by f*#king Great Lakes)

2. No Hurricanes

3. No Earthquakes (well, none that cause mass damage)

4. No Floods (well, none that cause massive damage)

5. No Wildfires

What would you add to the list? Oh, and, check out the article from thrillist.com if you want.
