Michigan Puts Emergency Recall On This Shake Product After 11 Die of Listeria
You always have to be careful with what you eat, but sometimes foods are tainted and people don’t find out until it’s too late. That’s exactly what’s happening again as the Federal Food and Drug Administration has announced.
They’re putting an emergency recall on a frozen shake brand which has caused 11 people to pass away And cases in 21 different states of people being affected. In total, the frozen shakes under the brand, Cisco Imperial and Lyons ReadyCare are being recalled after 38 people have gotten sick, and there have been 37 hospitalizations.

It was also discovered that the shakes were sold to nursing homes and other institutions, so the products have been sourced to a specific location.
All in all the states that were affected by this outbreak were Alabama, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and West Virginia, as Wood TV reported.
Those who may be showing symptoms, like fever, muscle aches, nausea, tiredness, vomiting, and diarrhea should seek medical attention. More extreme symptoms include headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, and convulsions.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are also saying that this stems from outbreaks back in 2018 that continue to linger. They're saying the sicknesses are contained to those who consumed the drinks in hospitals and long-term care facilities, like nursing homes.
Both companies have recalled all of the shakes in question and will be handling the situation the best they can.
